You are out to trek one of the most beautiful flower bedecked passes of the region, besides visiting an old democratic habitation that existed for centuries. The trek starts from Kalath, a heritage village, 20 Kms. Short of Manali.

A wide option of starting the trek from many different trails and hills provides the facility of choosing the number of days for the trek. The trek winds through the dense forest of pine, oak and birch. A carpet of high altitude flowers takes us to the 3600 Mts. high Chanderkhani Pass a heaven for nature lovers and descends down to a unique habitation that maintained their own democratic system of Govt. for centuries.

THE ITINERARY

Day 01: REPORT AT BASE CAMP KALATH, ( 5,580 Ft )
Forenoon:
Acclimatization trek to Parsha waterfall.
Afternoon: Activities/ Team building games etc. The day ends with the bonfire after dinner.

Day 02: KALATH – NAVAN TAPRU (3100 Mts.) 4/5 Hrs.
Drive till the starting point of the trek, Rumsu village. An Uphill trek starts from the village Rumsu through the beautiful meadow, Steling. The trek is through the thick pine forest initially and then a grassy land ascend till Nawan Tapru, is an open field, where the valley exposes the view of the whole surrounding ranges. Camp at Navan Tapru.

Day 03: NAVAN TAPRU – CHANDERKHANI PASS (3600 Mts.) – MALANA (3026 Mts.) 6/7 Hrs.
Trekking with the wide view of Pir Panjal Range takes us to 3600Mts. high Chanderkhani Pass. The pass is covered with snow till May and then a steep descend down to a unique habitation that maintained their own democratic system of Govt. for centuries. Camp near the village Malana or stay in a guest house.

Day 04: MALANA – JARI– MANALI (2050 Mts.)
After breakfast descend down to road side and then transfer by cab to Manali Programme concludes.

Our trek is through a carpet of high altitude flowers field to Chanderkhani Pass (3600 mts.) The pass is covered with snow till end of May – a heaven for nature lovers. The high peaks of Dhauladhar and Peer Panjal Ranges are in your full view. Back to Navan Tapru camp in the evening.

Day 04: NAVAN TAPRU – NAGGAR- MANALI (2050 Mts)
Descending down the same way to Naggar takes around 3/4 hrs. Transfer to Manali. Programme concludes.

Day2: KALATH- JANA – MATIKOCHHAR (2200 MTS.)
Transfer to Jana by jeeps and then trek to Matikochhar about 14 kms. The gradual trek to Matikochar gives a beautiful view of the valley and snow covered peaks. Matikochar commands a panoramic view of Kullu valley, particularly of Kullu town. During night in clear weather one gets a feeling as there are two skies, one on the top and the second below. Camp at Matikochar near the forest hut.

Day 03: MATIKOCHHAR- PHUTASOR (3000 MTS.)- RUMTU (2800 MTS.)
Initially a steep but later a gradual trek through dense forests of pine, oak and beautiful meadows takes us to the small natural lakes at Phutasor. The trek continuous with a number of ascends and decends to Rumtu. Camp at Rumtu.

Day 04: RUMTU- DHANA KUNNU (3600 MTS.) – CHANDERKHANI PASS (3600 MTS.)- CHAKLANI (3200 MTS.)
The trek is an uphill walk up to the ridge and a gradual accent upto Dhana Kunu . From where the snowy ranges of Spiti dominate the horizon. Trekking with the wide view of Pir Panjal Range takes us to 3600 Mts. high Chanderkhani Pass (The pass is covered with snow till May). Trek descends towards Chaklani.. Camp at Chaklani (an open field).

Day 05: CHAKLANI –NAGGAR /MANALI (2050 MTS.)
Descend down the same way back to Naggar. Transfer to Manali. Programme concludes.

Day 02: KALATH– STELING (2745 Mts.) 4/5 Hrs.
It’s an Uphill trek to the beautiful meadows passing through some old villages of Kullu Valley. Overnight at Steling camp.

Day 03: STELING – CHAKLANI (3260 Mts.) 4/5 Hrs.
Initially a steep ascend through pine, Oak and birch trees and then a gradual ascend on a grassy pastures to reach at Chaklani camp. Chaklani commands an enchanting view of Kullu valley and peaks of Dhauladhar range . Overnight at Chaklani.

Day 04: CHAKLANI – CHANDERKAHANI PASS (3600 Mts.) – NAGRUNI (3050 Mts.) 6/7 Hrs.
A gradual ascend through a carpet of high altitude flower field to reach Chanderkhani Pass 3600 Mts. The pass is covered with snow till end of May – a heaven for nature lovers. The pass overviews a wide, majestic and panoramic view of PIR PANJAL, DHAULADHAR ranges and Parvati valley. After spending some time at the pass we descend to the camp at Nagruni.

Day 05: NAGRUNI – CHOTTA GRAHAN (3600 Mts.)
A gradul trek to a beautiful meadow Chotta Grahan.

Day 06: CHOTTA GRAHAN – MALANA (3026 Mts.)
We descend down to a unique habitation that maintained their own democratic system of Govt. for centuries. Camp/ stay in a guest house at the village Malana.

Day 07: MALANA – MANALI (2050 Mts.)
After breakfast descend down to road side and then transfer by cab to Manali Programme concludes.

COST INCLUDES

Accommodation in spacious and comfortable tents at base camp at Kalath ( 6 – 8 pax in a tent, ground bedding with mattresses, pillows and blankets ). There is a separate block of toilets and washrooms with running hot and cold water for male and female.

Accommodation in Alpine tents ( 4men/6men/8men ) during the trek in higher camps ( separate toilet tent facility is provided ).

Sleeping bags ( Holofill ), Rucksack, Trekking mats.

A variety of wholesome hygienic vegetarian meals.

All activities as per the itinerary.

Transportation/ transfers as per the itinerary.

Services of qualified instructors/ guides, cook, kitchen helper and mules/porters to carry camping equipment if logistics required.

Basic first aid kit .

Transportation to reach base camp and back to your destination. However, arrangements of travelling can be made on request.

Any accidental, emergency, travel or medical Insurance.

Any expenses of a personal nature.

Beverages or drinks of any sort, including soft drinks or bottled / mineral water.

Any charges to visit monument/ heritage buildings and photography or camera charges.

Any transportation charges or transfers which are not mentioned in the itinerary.

Any charges for a manual or helicopter evacuation, hospitalisation in case of a medical emergency or the like.

PAYMENT & CANCELLATION POLICIES

(Cancellation request will only be accepted by email)

In case request for cancellation is received before 30 clear days or more in advance before the scheduled date of reporting, 80% of the advance taken will be refunded.

If the request for cancellation is received between 15 to 29 days, 50% of advance taken will be refunded.

No refund will be given, if the cancellation intimation is received less than 15 days before the reporting date.

PARTICIPANTS PLEASE NOTE

The Programme schedule can be changed due to unforeseen circumstances. In case of any illness during the expedition, the expenses for medical treatment, travel and porter etc. are to be borne by the concerned individual. Alcohol consumption is strictly prohibited during the camp. Trek India Outdoors cannot be held responsible for any accident, illness or any unexpected events during the expedition. Primary medical facilities will be available wherever, possible. Participants will be presented with certificates only on successful completion of the expedition. During the expedition the decision of the Camp Director will be final and binding.

***Those who are on special medication should bring their own necessary medicines. People having Asthma, Blood Pressure, Heart Problems or any high altitude ailments are advised not to participate.
