Skiing / Snow Boarding
Winters are equally charming, glorious and fascinating as Summers. Manali has one of the best skiing slopes in India. Which has attracted domestic as well as international skiers and snow borders.
Trek India organizes ski courses for beginners for 7 days in Solang valley, which is 11 Kms. from Manali. These courses are organized under the professional guidance of qualified instructors from January to March every year. Lodging and boarding is provided in a guest house with a facility of attached toilets and heating system. The full equipment is provided by us including the ski gears. After the basic course of 07 days you will be able to ski down from a gentle slope. Ski lift facility is also provided on request.
Elementary Ski Course Schedule
Day 01: Registration and check in ski lodge at Solang. Course briefing and introduction of instructors. Issue and introduction of ski equipment. Learn to walk and getting up on skies, balancing and sliding.
Day 02: Demonstration and practice downhill movement, sidestepping, traversing and learn snow plough techniques & practise.
Day 03: Revision of snow plough & practise. Introduction of snow plough turn, edges and practise.
Day 04: Practice snow plough turns, edge control and body stretching movements.
Day 05: Introduction of stem turn. Demonstration and practise of stem turn on longer slopes.
Day 06: Demonstration of using ski poles on stem turn and practise.
Day 07: Free skiing till lunch. Closing ceremony and distribution of certificates.
Trainees will be shown videos of skiing and given talks on skiing history, care and maintenance.
Best Period: January – February and March
Inclusions:
Accommodation: In ski lodge on sharing basis with attached bath.
Food: wholesome hygienic veg and non-veg food on fixed menu basis.
Ski equipment: Ski pairs, jacket and trousers.
First aid: Elementary first aid only.
Instruction: Qualified and internationally exposed instructors.
Exclusions:
Transportation to the ski lodge and back (we will assist in making arrangements)
Snow goggles, gloves and personal use clothing & equipment.
Note:
Training will be progressive and max use of good weather will be made to improve standards.
In case of any mishap/illness/injuries Trek India will not be held responsible, The expences for medical treatment etc.to be borne by the concerned individual.
