THE ITINERARY

Day 01: RECEIVE FROM AIRPORT TO SHITKARI BASE CAMP.
Upon arrival at the srinagar airport , Board a vehicle that takes you on a 3 hour drive to shitkari winding roads that takes you towards kashmir`s golden meadows of sonamargshitkari our base camp for the kashmir lakes trek is 3 kms before sonamarg stay overnight in tents at the open grassy campsite at Shitkari.

Day 02: TREK FROM BASE CAMP TO NICHNAIE.
We start the trek towards Nichnai early morning heading for a moderate ascent of 2 – 3 hours towards the table top village of shekdur crossing over the stretch of pine forests we reach the bank of NichnaiNallah breaking for lunch A gradual ascent along the Nallah brings us to today`s campsite with beautiful views of Nichnai pass ahead.

Day 03: DAY3TREK FROM NICHNAIE TO VISHNUSAR.
The day`s trek starts with a moderate to steep ascent for 2 hours reaching the top of Nichnai pass at 4100 m . we can view the Nichnai lake on the left side while climbing towards the pass After crossing the pass , we gradually descend for an hour and re-group for lunch we walk along the meadows in the valley towards today`s campsite just below the Vishnusar lake. Rest of the day can be used to explore the area around. Visiting the twin lakes of Vishnusar and kishansar.

Day 04: TREK FROM VISHNUSAR TO GADSAR.
We start the day with gradual ascent crossing the twin lakes. A steep ascent follows which takes you to the top of Gadsar pass at 4200 m, offering beautiful views of the twin lakes from the top, thereafter its a gradual descent followed by an easy walk along the meadows towards Gadsar lake. We re-group for lunch at the lake continuing afterwards towards the campsite further ahead.

Day 05: TREK FROM GADSAR TO SATSAR.
Today`s trek takes us across a set of 7 lakes known as SATSAR we trek uphill from Gadsar campsite for 1.5 – 2 hours before setting into a gentle walk along the Satsar stream to reach Satsar pass . The lakes are spread out just across the pass in a valley we re-group for lunch on the bank of a lake before continuing further for an hour to our campsite today.A visit meadow surrounded by high ridges on 3 sides.

Day 06: TREK FROM SATSAR TO GANGBAL AND CAMPSITE AT NUNDKUL LAKE.
Today we trek towards the twin lakes of Nundkol and Gangbal, intial ascent takes us towards Zach pass at 4100 m, over a boulder ridden trail Zach pass affords mighty views of the Harmukh Mountain towering over the twin lakes of Nundkol and Gangbal. We break for lunch along a small stream and then climb on to a small ridge over looking the lakes to reach the Nundkol campsite.

Day 07: BUFFER DAY AT GANGBAL LAKE.
Today is the rest day for the trek, we explore the area surrounding the twin lakes, going over to Gangbal lake and relaxing on its banks. Harmukh Mountain towers over the whole valley, providing astounding views from all directions we return to the campsite for our farewell dinner and camp fire.

Day 08: TREK FROM GANGBAL LAKE TO NARANAG AND BACK DRIVE TO SRINAGAR.
Today is the last day and we head back towards civilization. we start with a gradual ascent, getting out of the valley and then descent towards the tree line to reach at forested trail which takes us to a Tea-shop our lunch break destination then, its a steep descent of 3 hours towards Naranag, an ancient temple settlement and a road -head that connects to srinagar transfer your back-pack to the vehciles waiting for us and sit back and enjoy the drive to srinagar.

Srinagar is well connected by flight will all major cities in India.

The nearest railway station is Nowgam Srinagar.

Travel by road from Jammu to Srinagar takes anywhere between 8 – 12 hours depending upon weather & traffic conditions.

COST INCLUDES

Accommodation in Alpine tents ( 4men/6men/8men ) during the trek in higher camps ( separate toilet tent facility is provided ).

Sleeping bags ( Holofill ), Rucksack, Trekking mats.

A variety of wholesome hygienic vegetarian meals.

All activities as per the itinerary.

Transportation/ transfers as per the itinerary.

Services of qualified instructors/ guides, cook, kitchen helper and mules/porters to carry camping equipment if logistics required.

Basic first aid kit .

COST EXCLUDES

Transportation to reach base camp and back to your destination. However, arrangements of travelling can be made on request.

Any accidental, emergency, travel or medical Insurance.

Any expenses of a personal nature.

Service tax as applicable.

Beverages or drinks of any sort, including soft drinks or bottled / mineral water.

Any charges to visit monument/ heritage buildings and photography or camera charges.

Any transportation charges or transfers which are not mentioned in the itinerary.

Any charges for a manual or helicopter evacuation, hospitalisation in case of a medical emergency or the like.

Any additional activities which are not mentioned in the itinerary.

PAYMENT & CANCELLATION POLICIES

(Cancellation request will only be accepted by email)

In case request for cancellation is received before 30 clear days or more in advance before the scheduled date of reporting, 80% of the advance taken will be refunded.

If the request for cancellation is received between 15 to 29 days, 50% of advance taken will be refunded.

No refund will be given, if the cancellation intimation is received less than 15 days before the reporting date.

PARTICIPANTS PLEASE NOTE

The Programme schedule can be changed due to unforeseen circumstances. In case of any illness during the expedition, the expenses for medical treatment, travel and porter etc. are to be borne by the concerned individual. Alcohol consumption is strictly prohibited during the camp. Trek India Outdoors cannot be held responsible for any accident, illness or any unexpected events during the expedition. Primary medical facilities will be available wherever, possible. Participants will be presented with certificates only on successful completion of the expedition. During the expedition the decision of the Camp Director will be final and binding.

***Those who are on special medication should bring their own necessary medicines. People having Asthma, Blood Pressure, Heart Problems or any high altitude ailments are advised not to participate.
